Gaming on PantherX

If you’re an occasional, or even hard-core gamer you will be pleased to find that many of your favorite titles are already available on PantherX. In fact, if you are a user of one of the popular game distribution platforms like Steam, you will find thousands of options that run out of the box.

Here’s how you install Steam:

  1. Menu > System Tools > Software
  2. Search for “Steam”
  3. Hit “Install”

We are also continuously adding new titles to Software. You can find them under Categories > Games.

Great to see this work for a Linux-libre/FOSS-focused project! I really enjoyed the mockup that was made, it’s going to be an amazing LXQt environment. Waiting anxiously for the git sources and more releases!

Obrigado! We appreciate your kind words! We have over 250+ internal repositories so publishing is going to take some time (public bug tracking, proper feedback mechanism, …). However, all source are technically available since the system relies on them, to build packages.

Let me give you a quick example:

$ guix package -s px-accounts-service
name: px-accounts-service
version: 0.4.3
outputs: out
systems: x86_64-linux i686-linux
dependencies: capnproto@0.8.0 nng@1.3.2 pkg-config@0.29.2 pybind11@2.6.2 python@3.8.2
+ util-linux@2.35.1 yaml-cpp@0.6.3
location: px/packages/accounts.scm:33:2
homepage: https://www.pantherx.org/
synopsis: PantherX (Online) AccountsService
description: This package provides a background services to manage Online Accounts in PantherX
relevance: 20

This package is located at px/packages/accounts.scm which refers to this line in our package repository. As seen in the package, the current version’s source code can be found here: https://source.pantherx.org/px-accounts-service_v0.4.3.tgz

Far from ideal; Just thought I mention it till we publish the source on git! Cheers

It’s been a while but we finally got around publishing some source code. It’s all very much work in progress, and this is just about 1/3 but with time, everything will go online: https://git.pantherx.org/development.

Cheers from Portugal
